There are many ways in which you can help the Shawnee County Historical Society preserve the past for the future; become a member, volunteer some time, and remember the SCHS in your estate planning.

 

You can join now securely on-line using either by using PayPal account or a major credit card.

Membership in SCHS is from January 1-December 31 each year. The Society greatly appreciates and benefits from the highest level of membership in which you are able to participate. You will receive:

 

  • Quarterly Historical Highlights newsletter

  • Discounts at events

  • Online Archives

  • The SCHS News to Use email newsletter 

  • Invitation to the Annual Meeting on or near December 5, the anniversary of Topeka's founding

  • Pre-announcements of Society activities and special events

 

Membership revenues also support other local endeavors including our Educational Program and the Kansas History Day District and State competitions held at Washburn University.

 

Your Society also works closely with the Kansas State Historical Society, Brown v Topeka Board of Education NHS, and the Kansas State Capitol to provide learning opportunities for students and adults. The SCHS has partnerships with National Association for State and Local Histories, to preserve Shawnee County History.
